Aedifica achieved a score of 57/100 on its first participation in the GRESB. This solid result is a great reward for the sustainability efforts made by the team over the past year.
GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) is an independent real estate benchmark that assesses the sustainability policy of real estate companies. Each year GRESB evaluates the sustainability performance of real estate in terms of environmental, social and governance aspects (ESG) on the basis of international reporting frameworks and regional guidelines. The benchmark provides the capital markets with standardised and validated data, making it possible to compare the sustainability efforts of the participants in a transparent manner. GRESB is therefore an important tool for real estate companies, which are encouraged in their sustainability ambitions, but also for investors, who can monitor ESG efforts in a clear manner.
Sustainable entrepreneurship is deeply embedded in Aedifica’s DNA. We are committed to environmentally and socially responsible investment and development, all the way from start to finish. We therefore see it as our responsibility, towards both our investors and society, to participate in this sustainability benchmark.
Aedifica achieved a score of 57/100 for the reference year 2019. This is a solid performance for a first participation in the GRESB.
By achieving such a solid GRESB score after a first participation, Aedifica demonstrates the effectiveness of its sustainability policy.
Stefaan Gielens – CEO Aedifica
This GRESB score is the result of the sustainability strategy that Aedifica has improved in its most recent sustainability report. By drawing up a new, ambitious action plan, we were able to take targeted action to achieve our ESG objectives. We can now see that those actions have not only contributed to a stronger and more responsible organisation in general, but also to a better GRESB score.
Moreover, this solid first score is the result of great teamwork. We are not only talking about the teamwork within Aedifica’s Sustainability Committee, which takes care of the practical execution of the action plan, but also about the cooperation between the different departments that took part in completing the GRESB survey.
Thanks to our ambitious ESG action plan, we will continue to make progress on corporate social responsibility in the coming years. As a result of this continuous effort, we will also continue to improve our GRESB result.
