Net zero GHG pathway

Aedifica commits to achieving net zero emissions for its entire portfolio by 2050 to meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement and thus contribute to addressing the climate crisis. Reducing the impact of global warming will largely depend on further eliminating greenhouse gas emissions as a result of energy consumption. Net zero greenhouse gas emissions do not only refer to direct emissions, but also to indirect emissions. Aedifica’s greatest challenge will be to reduce GHG emissions from energy consumed by its operators and residents.

In order to achieve climate neutrality, Aedifica will be implementing a net zero GHG pathway addressing every aspect of our business activities. Each of these activities contributes to our goal of reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This will be a challenging journey in which collaboration and knowledge sharing within the industry is essential. Aedifica is committed to accompanying its stakeholders on this journey.

Carbon neutral offices

Aedifica is conscious of its CO2 emissions. We support certified climate projects in order to offset the carbon footprint of our offices, achieving CO2-neutrality. For this effort, Aedifica obtained the CO2-NEUTRAL label (in line with the PAS 2060, international standard for CO2-neutrality) 3 years in a row.

This label guarantees that Aedifica is actively calculating, reducing and compensating its local and global climate impact. This label can only be achieved through serious climate efforts.

In order to offset our 2022 CO2 emissions, we are supporting two projects. The Reforesting Project implements sustainable agricultural practices in Kenya that not only reduce deforestation and improve soil quality, but also provide farmers with a higher and more stable income. The India Wind Project aims to make India less dependent on electricity generated from fossil fuels by building wind turbines.
