Aedifica treats Dutch residents to holiday concert

Late last year, Aedifica organised a Christmas concert by Stichting Philomela in the brand new community space of Emmaheerdt residence in Winschoten, Netherlands. The residents enthusiastically enjoyed the concert and were eager for more.

Aedifica cares about its residents and always tries to go the extra mile. In summer 2024, we opened a meeting space in Emmaheerdt, a care property with apartments for elderly people who want to live independently with care and services on demand. Emmaheerdt is a former school building that was recently redeveloped, with the gymnasium now converted into a multifunctional community space. Under the guidance of a hostess and with the help of an app, various social activities are organised for residents, and eventually also for people living nearby.

The community space we recently opened, is the very heart of this care facility and contributes significantly to the well-being of the elderly people living here.

Emmaheerdt residents wrapped up 2024 together in their new community space with a highly appreciated classical concert organised by Aedifica in collaboration with the Philomela Foundation. This was not the first time residents of Aedifica properties in the Netherlands were treated to a classical concert. During 2024, Stichting Philomela also visited some of our other buildings. The cooperation with Stichting Philomela, which has been ongoing since 2020, will continue in the new year as well, so that even more of our residents can enjoy live classical music.

Philomela is a Dutch non-profit organisation that wants to connect people from different ages, cultures, or social backgrounds through classical music in an accessible and interactive way. The foundation creates specific music programmes for the elderly and performs recitals in care homes on a regular basis.
