Aedifica recognised in two leading international ESG rankings

Financial Times Climate Leaders 2026

Two independent recognitions

On 15 June 2026, the Financial Times listed the company among Europe’s 600 Climate Leaders, with a score of 77.1. It ranked fourth among European property  companies and was one of three Belgian real estate companies included. Compiled with Statista, the ranking assesses reductions in greenhouse gas emissions relative to revenue over time.

On 23 June  2026, TIME included the company in its World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026 ranking. Statista assessed more than 5,000 companies against over 20 sustainability indicators. The final list includes 750 companies across more than 40 countries.

Progress supported by verified data

Aedifica’s externally verified 2025 Environmental Data Report shows continued progress across the portfolio:

  • Net energy use intensity decreased to 148 kWh/m², the fifth consecutive annual reduction, compared with 181 kWh/m² in 2021.
  • Absolute portfolio greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 10% year on year.
  • Energy data coverage increased to 86%, compared with 43% in 2019.
  • Aedifica also achieved a GRESB score of 75/100 for reference year 2024, a Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating of 9.6, an MSCI AAA rating and a sixth consecutive EPRA sBPR Gold Award.

Building on this momentum

Aedifica aims to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its portfolio by 2050, with an interim net energy use intensity target of 130 kWh/m² by 2030. Progress will continue through close cooperation with healthcare operators, including green lease clauses, smart metering, shared energy data, and investment in building performance.

Important note: both distinctions were awarded to Cofinimmo and transferred to Aedifica following the legal merger on 01.07.2026. They complement Aedifica’s own verified results and reflect the strong ESG foundations brought together in the enlarged group.
