After Aedifica raised more than €2,200 for the Alzheimer’s League in 2019 during ‘De Warmste Week’ (a solidarity action organised annually in Belgium), a new action could not fail to be launched this year. We invited ‘Cirkus in beweging’ from Leuven and ‘Circus zonder handen’ from Brussels to visit some residential care homes from Aedifica to give a small performance. Aedifica organised this series of performances to encourage residents and staff after a difficult year in which everyone was asked to make an extra effort. ‘De warmest week’ was the perfect occasion to make everyone forget their worries for a moment.
Of course, everything happened with the necessary precautions, the artists kept their masks on and the performance took place outside. The residents could enjoy the show through the window or their balconies.
The spectators from the various residential care homes in Brussels, Flemish – and Walloon Brabant could count on the enthusiasm of these young artists who had been sitting still for several months. Everywhere they were received with open arms (unfortunately not literally) and they put a smile on the faces of the residents and the staff. Various tricks and special tricks were certainly not lacking, all the stops were being pulled out. Aedifica would like to thank these young people once again for the beautiful performances they performed for our residents.
